    Mess?!   What mess? I just a cleaning professional over at my house a few days ago to help me clean down the house.  I like the feeling of a clean house so that I can usher in the holidays on a "clean slate."  I feel less stressed when the house is all clean and everything put away.  However, in just a few days, I don't know how the house looks like it has been turned upside down again.  That is because my kids are home from school for Winter Break.  And they have been camping out in every room in the house, except sleeping in their own beds at night.  Anyways, I spent most of the day today tidying up the house again.  Let's hope that I can keep it clean for a few more days for Christmas. 

    As promised...I have a few more holiday activities for you to do with your family in the few days leading up to Christmas.  Now that the kids are on break and they are bored at home.  You don't want them to be watching TV all day long on be on their devices.  And if you don't have young children at home anymore, it is still good to get away from your work desk and take some time to enjoy the holiday spirits.  Everywhere that you go, everyone is in a festive mood.  And there are fun holiday decorations everywhere.  Take some pictures, even if it is a selfie.  All of the museums around here have decorated all of the exhibits with holiday decorations.  It is so fun.  Even the local Aquarium around here have a "Christmas Under The Sea" Event.  I am thinking about taking my kids there tomorrow. 

    Taking some time away from the computer is a good idea.  It gives your mind, body, and spirit from work.  Especially if you work from home because it gives you an opportunity to get out and about.  Get some fresh air and look around.  All of the museum and places around have cafe themed to their leading exhibits so grab some lunch there.  And just enjoy the experience.  I just like to take a walk and look around.  I can't walk on a treadmill because it is too boring and I'll get off in like 5 minutes.  So taking a stroll and looking around keeps my mind occupied.  And before I know it, I've walked for an hour or more.  A great way to squeeze in some exercise and not have it feel like you are exercising.  

    • Put Together a Fun Puzzle – If it’s cold and blustery and you don’t want to go outside during the holiday or those nights, everyone is sitting around drinking hot cocoa (or a hot toddy), conversing, and putting together a puzzle is fun and promotes conversation.
    • Visit Winter Farm – Does your local community have farms nearby? Often, they plan events during the off-season, such as a maze, hayrides, and more.
    • Go To a Museum – Almost every local community has some museum that you can go to during the holidays that has holiday events. They’re often at a different price, so you’ll need to check if you don’t have a pass already.
    • Go All Out for Football or Other Seasonal Sports – If college or other local sports exist in your area, you can go to the games in person. Even if they don’t, there are often a lot of games going on television. If it’s your thing, get everyone t-shirts and make a big deal cheering for your team.
    • Try Your Public Library for Events – Finally, don’t forget to check your local library bulletin for information about activities during the holidays. These activities are often free or provided at a low cost.

    Activities that are slightly different from your normal life bring specialness to the holiday and build strong relationships due to shared experiences and memories.
