I have been sharing with you so many craft projects and holiday activities ideas.  Have you make anything from any of my ideas?  I would love to see what you have created.  If you have missed any of my previous posts, just hop on over to my archive to catch up on what you have missed (the link is also at the bottom of this email). I mostly make the crafts from whatever supplies that I could find laying around the house that I am not using.  We reuse a lot card board boxes.  You know everyone has a mountain stash of Amazon boxes just laying around in their garage.  Because you have too many to fit inside your recycling bin.  I keep those boxes because my son loves to cut them up and make toys, crafts, science experiments, race car tracks, and so much more out of them.  He wrote Santa a letter asking for what he wants for Christmas this year and on the list includes duck tapes and card board boxes.  Oh My!  I wonder what he will make next.  

I love saving money and time.  So I am always thinking of new quick and easy ways to save money and time.  And of course, I love involving my kids too.  They have to learn early on that being creative and having fun doesn't have to be expensive. Happiness is not measured in dollars and expensive things. 

Here are some Quick, Fast, and Easy Holiday Gathering Ideas.  

Disposable Serving Dishes

If your dinner is a pot luck, ask guests to bring their dish in a disposable (microwave-safe if applicable) container. That way you aren't stuck washing all those extra serving dishes or getting confused on which guest brought which serving dish.  If the guest forgets, transfer the dish to one of your dishes and immediately give it back to the guest.

No Knives or Glasses in the Sink When Cleaning Up 

The last thing you want is a cut hand because you grabbed a sharp blade or broken glass. Wash knives immediately, dry, and put away. Wash glasses separately. 

Clean Kitchen Before Dessert

Sit down to your Holiday dinner with a clean kitchen and empty dishwasher. Use the clean as you go method so you don’t have one mess piled on top of another. When dinner is over (but not dessert, you're using that as a bribe), create an assembly line of guests for cleanup. For example, one person gets all the cutlery off the table and into the kitchen. Another removes dishes and glasses. Another rinses the dishes while someone else loads the dishwasher. 

Involve the Kids

Get the kids involved in dinner with kid-friendly recipes. These need just a bit of adult supervision. Fruit salad: one drained 15 oz. can each of mandarin oranges, and pineapple chunks. Fill the can with marshmallows and then with shredded coconut. Add half a can of sour cream. Mix well and let set at least a few hours in the fridge so the marshmallows melt a bit. 

Kids can make Asian coleslaw: Break apart one package of ramen noodles. Set the seasoning package aside for another use. Add ½ cup peanuts or almonds, one package coleslaw mix (don't use the dressing if there is one), one cup frozen peas, and ½ cup Asian salad dressing. Toss well. Refrigerate for a few hours before serving so the noodles absorb some of the dressing and soften a bit. 

Monkey bread is easy for kids. Use refrigerated biscuit dough that comes in a can. Tear each biscuit in half. Roll each half into a ball. Butter a Bundt pan. Melt butter in a bowl. Put brown sugar in a shallow bowl.  Dip the biscuit ball into the butter then roll in the brown sugar, place in the Bundt pan. Sprinkle with pecans or walnuts. Add another layer of biscuit balls with pecans and so forth until the Bundt pan is 2/3 full. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes. An adult should turn the Bundt pan upside down on a platter for the bread to fall out. If you want to go over the top, drizzle with caramel ice cream topping and more pecans.
