Trello for Project Management in Five Easy Steps

Posts Project Management

Trello is a web-based collaboration, project management, and communication tool that can help simplify and streamline its processes to complete a project. It allows you to view your plan and update it at a glance, add important team members, and assign important tasks with an easy and straightforward interface.

Here are five effortless steps to using Trello for small business project management:

Step One: Start a New Trello Project Board

After you set up your free account, you will be directed to the main interface of Trello. This is where you can view your workspaces boards, design templates, or new boards and invite members to collaborate with your project. First, find "Boards" on the left menu to start a new board. Then select "Create new board" from the choices under "Workspace Boards." Next, choose your background color, fill in your board title and determine who can see it. Then select "Create."

Step Two: Create a Team and Add Members

Next, you can add team members by using the "Invite" icon near the top left of your new board. You can quickly add people from Google, Slack, Microsoft or create a link to send direct invites.

Step Three: Add Project Lists and Task Cards

From there, you can start adding the tasks that need to get done to complete the project. Simply click "+ Add a list" to get started. The first few cards you create can be information on what the project requires to get you started. First, fill in the title of the list, then click "Add list" to add more details using cards. Once the list is made, a new option will appear that states "+Add a Card." Include the key details and click "Add card."

Step Four: Personalize and Customize

Once the list and card are added, you can use the pencil next to each card title to add more details and customize it. You can edit labels, change members, or move it to another list. Select "Open card" from this menu to further personalize. This is where you can include even more information that follows your project management plan. The more information you have here, the more successful your project.

Step Five: Keep Track and Update

Once the info is filled in, including project scope, assigning tasks, and creating due dates, you are ready to execute the project. You have successfully used Trello to start your project and can now review the submitted work. Be sure to add time to review the cards, lists, and due dates to keep track of your work and update where necessary to take full advantage of Trello.

With these five steps, you can get a project started easily with your team and all the resources needed to get it down easily. Don't let poor communication and organization destroy the success of your project. Instead, use Trello to organize and streamline your projects to increase business exposure, revenue, and customers satisfaction.
