5 Tips for Cultivating Stronger Relationships with Your Top Affiliates

Boost Your Affiliate Program Challenge

The truth is, creating a strong relationship with your top affiliates is not hard to do. When they are promoting your products and making money, that’s going to create a bond right there. If they’re also proud of your products, that is going to strengthen the bond. Each thing you do will help cultivate stronger relationships with your top affiliates if you make an intention and plan to do so.

Tip #1: Create Amazing Products

Don’t skimp on creating amazing products for your ideal audience. Know your audience backward and forward. Keep studying them because audiences, even when their demographics stay the same, change over time. Know their pain points. Know how to create solutions that they want to use. When you have great products, it’s a no-brainer for an affiliate to promote your products.

To ensure that you are creating amazing products, seek regular feedback from buyers so that you can improve as you go.

Tip #2: Stick to Your Promises

If you make a promise, you must keep it. If you mess up something, you must come forward and admit it. A lot of the way your affiliates feel about you has to do with the feedback they get from their customers regarding your practices. If you have promised something, such as a 100 percent no questions asked refund – do it.

To ensure that you stick to your promises, don’t blow smoke and forget about hyperbole to sell your stuff. Sell it honestly, and you won’t ever break a promise.

Tip #3: Understand the Business Model an Affiliate Uses

The business model an affiliate uses is slightly different from your business model, but they have a lot in common. Learn how they want to communicate with their audience, the types of content they like to use, the price point, and commissions structure they need to say yes to your products. It’s all about the buyer’s journey – if you understand that, and you can provide content for them in the right places due to your understanding, you’ll rock the program.

Tip #4: Provide the Right Resources for Your Affiliates

Super Affiliates don’t like signing up for a program then finding out that they have nothing for them to use to promote the product. Giving a link is not enough. You need to provide all the right resources for your affiliates that they need - from graphics to content to stats and more. If you need it to market your product, they probably need it too.

Tip #5: Pay Them Well and On Time

While we don’t like to admit it, most of the time one reason anyone is in business is money. If an affiliate cannot make money on a regular basis with your products and services, they will stop promoting you. Offer a high commission rate, higher to super affiliates than your general affiliates, and then pay them on time as you state in your program. Don’t make it tricky, don’t hold back money for fees or anything like that. Pay them what they made.

When a super affiliate sees that you’re serious about your business, that you take care of your customers, that you care about your affiliates’ success, and that you’re honest and transparent, you won’t have any trouble attracting the right affiliates to your program.
