Consider Paying Affiliate Commissions More Frequently

Boost Your Affiliate Program Challenge

How and when you pay affiliate commissions can help a professional affiliate determine whether they want to be part of your program or not. If you make it hard for them to collect their money, keep paydays far apart, and otherwise aren’t straightforward about how your commissions work and how they’ll get paid a smart affiliate will not sign up for your program. To incentivize professional affiliates, you’ll need to come up with a motiving way to attract them.

Instant Commissions

Most affiliate software will allow you to set up instant commissions for your affiliates. However, it is advised that you only set up instant commissions for proven affiliates who are honest and above board to avoid any issues with this. Come up with some criteria for your instant commission plan so that any affiliate who joins knows what to do to be able to qualify for instant commissions.

Special Promotion Commissions

It’s also fun to run a contest that has instant, daily, or weekly commission opportunities based on the contest you’re running. For example, maybe you might run a contest that says get paid daily by six PM CST for all sales, or “get paid every Friday for all sales made through Friday.” This may seem risky due to returns but if you have a good product how many returns do you really have? If you’re pricing and choosing who can join your program, you shouldn’t have big issues. But most affiliate programs can also collect refunds if that is a problem.

Holiday Promotion Commissions

An effective and fun way to get people active during holidays is to offer a daily or instant commission for all sales. Again, this should only be for your most trusted affiliates so that you don’t have to worry about being scammed or fake orders. Some affiliate systems like JVZOO.com offer some protections for this if you pay via their system.

Daily, Weekly, Monthly Options

You can set up your affiliate program to pay however you want it to in most cases. Even if you do have to do it manually, setting up faster payment options will encourage your affiliates to work harder for you over someone else that may make them wait a month or more for any of the money they made during a sale.

The point is, don’t hold on to your affiliate’s money. You know systems that do this, and it’s just not very effective if you want to attract high-performing professional super affiliates to your program. Getting money in your account, as you know, is so much more motivating than seeing the money you might get later.
