Boost Your Ranking by Tapping into Successful Keyword Optimization

Tap Into Whats Already Working in Your Business

We live in a Google-driven world. Whether you’re looking for the nearest ice cream shop or tips on how to get wine stains out white carpet, Google tends to be the go-to resource. The words and phrases you type into Google generate a list of content based on the terms you use. The content is ranked based on a variety of reasons. Some reasons include paying for ranking and the speed a website loads, but mostly the ranking is based on how well the keywords match the inquiry. The closer the match, the higher the ranking.

You’re Using SEO Whether You Know it or Not

It takes a lot of time and effort to create a high-quality website and add relevant content that people are looking for. SEO, or search engine optimization, helps your website rank higher and get more traction when specific words and phrases match up during a Google search. You’re already using SEO each time you create content relative to your site, but purposefully tapping into keyword optimization can boost your ranking and increase your traffic.

Choose Your Keywords on Purpose

The keywords and phrases you use matter. Google recognizes words and phrases associated with searches and instantly delivers ranked material. Most people click on the top one or two offerings generated. While many people will bypass ad-driven content, they likely will only click on the highest-ranking content leaving the other options in the dust. When creating content for your site, it’s important to actively choose keywords or phrases that boost the relevancy of your content and increase your ranking. Here’s how-

Plan ahead- Whether you’re crafting an about me page or a blog post, consider what you want to say. What keywords or phrases best describe your message? There are tools that can help you determine the highest-ranking keywords and phrases, but you can easily do a search on Google yourself to see what’s been searched. Once you determine what words and phrases are most common, you can plan your content around them.

Be strategic- Using your keywords strategically is key. Ideally keywords should be found in URL’s, headings, subheadings, meta-description, and in image properties. You’ll want to use keywords in the first 100 words of your text, sooner if possible.

Keep it real- Overuse of keywords can backfire. Remember, you are writing for Google algorithms but you’re also writing for people. Be sure your content is readable and doesn’t scream I’m trying to get top ranking and spamming you with keywords. When in doubt, focus on great content and the rest will follow.

Post and repeat- When you find keywords and phrases that work well, create additional content that takes deeper dives into the theme and interlink between the various posts to boost your ranking and offer an abundance of content.

Tapping into the right keywords for your content will help you do more of what’s already working. Your content is what the market needs. Your expertise solves problems. Keep up the good work by helping your web presence rank higher and get more traction.
