Build Your Funnel One Lead Magnet, One Opt-In Page, and One Email Series at a Time

The Power Of One Challenge

Ah, funnels. Funnels are fun. They may seem overwhelming sometimes because sometimes the concept just seems too involved. You’ve likely entered someone’s funnel that was super intense and had many upsells, down sells, cross-sells, and so forth. But, what if I told you that you can build a very wide or deep funnel just one thing at a time? You don’t have to do it all at once, and the good thing about funnels is you can always add to them.

For example, start with one lead magnet. What do you need for that lead magnet?

A Lead Magnet

This can be anything you want it to be - a freebie product, a sample, an eReport, or an eBook. It can be created from scratch or it can be created from PLR. It’s totally up to you and you only need one to start getting more traffic and signups for your email list.

One way to create a lead magnet is to think of the ultimate product or service that you really want them to buy. Then take part of that to create the lead magnet or create a report about the main problem or the why. For example, if your main product is a course about how to create funnels, you may want to create a report about why you need a funnel and make that your lead magnet.

An Opt-in Page

Now you need an opt-in page for your lead magnet. That’s simply done using either a page or by using software such as Leadpages.net, Clickfunnels.com, or even a popup using your email software like Aweber.com combined with Popupalley.com. If you don’t get carried away, you can make this opt-in page in just a few minutes. It doesn’t have to be a long sales page. It can be a form on a page or a popup.

An Email Series

Then you want them to get something in email once they sign up. You’ll need to create a short series of at least 7 to 10 emails. They can be short - about 250 words each. You’ll want a Welcome email that gives them the link to the freebie, and then you’ll want to provide follow up emails that point them to interesting blog posts about your main product or service as well as CTAs within those emails. Sometimes it’s helpful to form the email series in terms of 7 facts or points or ideas about your topic. You can even cut up an old multipoint blog post to turn into the series.

That’s all you need, and you have a funnel right now. There is no immediate upsell, no immediate addons. It’s a very simple funnel. If you already have the content developed through PLR or through content you’ve already created in the past that you’re repurposing, this will take you less than an hour to put together. Yet, it will increase your traffic and sales exponentially and explode your business. One funnel at a time. One opt-in page at a time. One email series at a time. Plus, you can add to everything later. As you create more products and services and create more funnels, you can always add and combine to create more complex funnels.
