Improve Your Sales Pages to Make It Easier for Affiliates to Make the Sale

Boost Your Affiliate Program Challenge

One of the most critical aspects of your affiliate program - aside from an amazing product - is getting it into the hands of your audience. If your sales pages are not perfected, you may be missing out on sales. If you’re not making as many sales as they’re hoping for, your affiliates will likely get tired of promoting something that doesn’t convert. To create a high converting sales page takes practice and testing. Let’s look at how you can do this.

First, there is a lot of discussion about how to properly create sales pages and how to make them convert better. Some will say you need a fancy landing page software like Leadpages.net, and some will say you don’t.

Here’s the thing. You don’t need anything fancy, and you can create all your landing pages directly on your site just as it is now without special software, but sometimes special software makes testing and creating easier due to templates. So, don’t let this factor get in your way. If you have a website, you already have what it takes to create converting sales pages and to conduct split testing.

Now that that is out of the way, let’s look at how you can improve your sales pages so that they convert at a higher rate, which will attract more affiliates to your program. After all, no one is going to turn down a sure thing when they see it. You really can make your program a sure thing, even if you never call it that, for the affiliates and your customers if you plan it that way.

  • Use Templates – Even if you make a sales page using your site and not a special software, there are sales page templates you can get that you can install or you can just use as a guideline. The reason you want to use this is that they’re already proven designs that work. No need to reinvent the wheel.

  • Change One Small Thing – When you do split testing, it’s all about proving one thing. For example, you may create entirely duplicate sales pages that only have a different headline, or a different color, or uses more bold highlights or something. One thing is all you need because that’s the only way to know what caused the difference.

  • Run the Test Long Enough – One problem with testing is that sometimes people don’t run tests long enough. You need to get at least 500 visitors before you can really get a good enough idea of what is working best. If you don’t have that kind of traffic yet, work on traffic building before you change anything.

  • Don’t Run the Test Too Long – One thing about running the test long enough is that there is a time when you’ve gone too long, and you won’t know whether the date on the calendar is the cause of the up or downswing in conversions. Run the test over a week or two and no longer to ensure that you have accurate results.

Your affiliates will be more motivated to tell people about your offers when they earn more money. The very best way to ensure that you’re doing all you can to get that product into the hands of your customers is to split test all sales pages and sales messages for effectiveness.
