The only way you can convert a sale is to bring the right audience to the right offers in the right way at the right time. This is almost like finding a needle in a haystack, except for it’s not. You can perfect and improve along the way, but the most important thing is to ensure your offers convert at the highest rate you can. When you do that, your affiliates will stick around because they know making money with you is easy. There are many techniques you can use to improve conversions. Let’s look at a few.
Proper Funnel Set Up
You want to set up your marketing funnel. Mainly it works like this. Create amazing content that you put on your website, then promote via social media and other methods. Or you get affiliates. Both send traffic to your site. That’s part one. Now, when they get to your site, they’ll see whatever it is that they clicked on to get there.
It may be a landing page, it may be a regular blog post. Either way, your job now is to get them to buy or sign up for your list. You can do that in a couple of ways. One with an amazing and converting sales page, and two with offers that encourage them to trade their email address for something valuable to them. One gets them on a buyers email list, and one gets them on a prospects email list.
Now once they’re on the list, no matter how they got there, it’s your job to educate, inform, and engage them so that they buy. Even if they already bought, you can lead them through the rest of your funnel and introduce other products and services.
Once you have your funnel set up with all the messages you’re going to send, there is so much more you can do as well to convert them.
- Retargeting & Remarketing – This involves either using a bit of code (don’t worry, it’s easy and the platform you choose will provide directions) on your site. That code will then put a cookie the website visitor’s browser. Then you run an advertisement directed only toward those previous visitors. The other way is via email remarketing. Once someone is on your email list, they may not be opening them. Using a display advertisement by uploading the unresponsive email addresses in much the same way will also produce results and ensure they open your emails due to seeing the display ad targeted toward them.
- Email Messages – Create email messages with a goal in mind. If you are creating autoresponder messages for someone who did not buy from you but signed up for freebie “A,” they should get special messages acknowledging download of freebie “A” and information about that topic that leads them to buy the solution.
- Social Messages – Social message can also help indirectly. The more people see your name and brand mentioned, the more trust is developed. Someone might see a message you post on social media and go back to your site because of it after having been there previously. Conversely, they may have seen the message but did not respond, then later clicked an affiliate link, and due to what they saw beforehand, they make the purchase.
- Targeted Blog Content – Be sure that you have regularly updated targeted blog content that addresses all aspects of your audience and their buyer’s journey. On the blog, you want to talk about the what and the why, but remember you want to sell them the how.
- Popups & Unders – Don’t let people miss out on your information by not having some form of pop up or pop under or exit popup that gives them an offer they can’t refuse. This is an excellent time to provide them with a valuable freebie or sample of your work.
The thing is when you get lots of traffic, if you don’t have a mechanism in place to take advantage of the traffic that you’re getting to move them to your email list and your marketing funnel to close more sales, you’re missing out a lot. And, so are your affiliates. They will notice if your conversion rate is meager and will be less likely to promote you with enthusiasm.
