One way to make a huge difference in a single customer’s life is to spotlight them. When someone is spotlighted for a good reason it brings attention them, but it also brings attention to your company. Not only is it good for you, it’s good for them. Plus, it’s practically user-generated content when you let customers use their own voice to speak for you.
Interview Customers
Send out an interview questionnaire to your customers asking them specific questions about the problem they had, how your product solved it, and where they are now. You know best how to phrase the questions based on who your customer is and the niche you serve.
Organize your questions so that they first get the background information, the process your customer took to find your solution, how your solution is different, and what made it work so well. Next, the questions should seek to discover how the customer’s life is now different due to implementing the solution.
Call Them Out on Social Media
Get permission to use their information on social media. Collect a headshot from them too. Then make a meme about them and tag them on social media. Highlight the problem they solved with the product they purchased. Then mention how well they’re doing now or how that problem no longer exists.
It’s important that you know your customer very well. There are some circumstances when a customer may not want to be called out. That is why you want to interview them, get them to fill out a form of some kind, and get the right permission. That way you’ll know they’re fine with it and happy about it.
Before & After Profiles
One way to approach this is with before and after profiles of each customer. This works well with very visual results. If you’re a health coach, it’s easy. Before and after pictures and a story of their situation will truly speak to others. If it’s a business before and after it can still be done, but you may have to think outside the box.
Create Case Studies
Once you’ve asked the questions and have the results, you can put the information together in the form of a case study. Your case study should introduce the problem, explain the impact of the problem, the solutions the individual attempted, the solution used, the results the solution provided, and then of course how the readers or viewers can access the solution too.
Spotlighting your customers is a fabulous and effective way to create user-generated content, but it’s also a good way to bring attention to your business and spread awareness of your products or services. Regardless of how you choose to spotlight your customers, you should highlight the pain, show the solution, and what the outcome is from implementing the solution in each case. This is what’s going to get the most attention.
